A year ago, who would’ve ever thought, “I wonder what a 3D kid’s film from Martin Scorsese would look like?” This week we got another glimpse at just that as the second trailer for “Hugo” was released.
Scorsese’s kinetic camera work is noticeably on display, especially in the opening shots, and while it feels absent of a bouncy, “kid’s film” tone, this certainly looks like an interesting adventure for all ages.
Aside from what’s given up in the trailer, much of the story is still a bit of a mystery – which is actually a nice change of pace for a trailer these days, no? But with the interesting ideas we’re given and the talent putting on the show, I’m betting kids, their parents and fans of Scorsese’s work will all be interested in checking out what a 3D kids film from Martin Scorsese looks like. “Hugo” opens on Nov. 23rd.
