Screenwriter David L. Johnson discusses “The Orphan”

Screenwriter David L. Johnson sat down with to discuss “The Orphan,” an R-rated horror in the evil child genre with a unique twist. Johnson, a native of Mansfield, OH, was in a unique situation earlier this year; “The Orphan” went into production just as the writer’s strike was building steam. Despite this setback, Johnson concedes that he’s been incredibly fortunate with his career, beginning with a five-year stint as Frank Darabont’s personal assistant, which he likened more to an apprenticeship program for screenwriting.
