Dates: June 1-August 28, 2009
Qualifications: Applicant must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license, own vehicle, computer or laptop with Microsoft Office or similar word processing program that is compatible with Office, and hi-speed Internet access. Applicant must have completed a Journalism 101 course or similar course on or before June 1.
Intern responsibilities: Be able to attend at least two press screenings a week and submit reviews for the movies that you see. Be responsible and respectful of deadlines. Understand how to attach files to an e-mail as well as open files that are sent to you. Be able to meet once every two weeks for editorial planning.
Job Details: Screenings are held in Mission Valley, Mira Mesa and San Diego from Monday to Thursday at either 10:30 a.m. or 7 p.m. The schedule is flexible and will be based on what works best for the intern.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship requiring an estimated 10 hours a week. You will be able to use the clips for your portfolio and be given a letter of recommendation based on your performance at the end of the program.
