Moderator Greg Grunberg of “Heroes” elicited a huge cheer from the audience as he approached the stage to introduce the 20-minute clip for “Kings,” debuting on NBC in February 2009. Grunberg couldn’t heap enough praise on the pilot, which was created by Michael Green, a fellow “Heroes” alum.
Kings is a contemporary re-imagining of the timeless tale of David and Goliath, an epic story of greed and power, war and romance, forbidden loves and secret alliances, and a young hero who rises to power in a modern-day kingdom.
The 20-minute clip introduces the shows main characters, including Golden Globe winner Ian McShane (Deadwood), Chris Egan (Resident Evil: Extinction), Sebastian Stan (Gossip Girl), Susanna Thompson (Star Trek: Voyager) and Allison Miller (Seventeen Again).
The cast participated in a Q & A following the clip, save for McShane, who was stuck in traffic on the 405. Director/executive producer Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend) and executive producer Erwin Stoff (I Am Legend) were also present.
